Good morning, folks! The cold weather has finally rolled in here where we are. In the morning, this means heavy jackets, hats, scarves, and gloves. In the afternoon, though, the sun has usually warmed up enough that we can get by with a cardigan or a shawl wrapped around us to go do our chores.
Today, I am sharing my A Walk in the Garden shawl pattern. This pattern used the tulip stitch, which is a combination of single and double crochet stitches to create the design. I also use the back-post double crochet stitch (BPDC) to create more texture throughout the shawl.
When finished, if using the same hook and yarn that I used below, your shawl will measure approximately 27 inches on its short side and 60 inches in length. If you use a different yarn weight, a larger or smaller needle, or if you crochet looser or tighter than I do, your shawl may be a little smaller or slightly larger.
But this is a one-size-fits-most sort of pattern, so sizing doesn’t really matter.
With all that said, let’s grab your hook and your yarn and start crocheting.

Hook: 6.5 mm (K) hook
