Chickadee Tree Creations
Playing with sticks and yarn...
For the love of all things fiber...
What started as a way to express my creativity and to bring a little color and joy to my life became a lifelong passion. For over 25 years, crocheting and knitting gave me the means to create and design in ways I never had before. And it opened the doorway to new crafts and urged me to revisit old crafts.

From knitting and crocheting, to embroidery and cross-stitching, to sewing and weaving--I love doing them all. And though I seem to always have a multitude of projects in progress, I enjoy working on every single one of them, so they will eventually become finished objects.

But creating with fiber isn't the only thing I am interested in. I want to learn the full process--from sheep to the skein of yarn or bolt of fabric.

Which is why I am on my homesteading journey.
Dream a little dream with me...
A journey to self-sufficiency...and maybe a little more creativity.
In 2012, my family and I moved out to my grandparents' old farm. By 2017, my children had reached ages that allowed me a bit more freedom, and my homestead dream began. At the moment, it's just a yard of animals, an orchard that needs a lot of TLC, and a (very) large garden, but I hope to, one day, have milking goats and fiber sheep.

For now, though, we preserve food from the garden and orchard, we gather up all the eggs from the birds, and we hug and pet all the cats. When I'm not creating in my studio, I am processing food for us to eat now and later in the year. I can fresh produce, dehydrate herbs and greens, and freeze the meat. I cook meals, from scratch, for my kids every single day. I will share these recipes and more with you along the way.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your stay!
